The one thing I like about vintage
is that there was a style a sense of beauty. We seemed to have lost
that by all the plastic and the foam take out containers, yes our life
may be easier but where is the beauty?I see so many vintage
items that have become obsolete like dinner napkins, nice dishes,
silverware, and serving bowls they have gone by the wayside with white
ugly paper napkins, foam containers, paperplates and plastic forks and
spoons.

I feel that we are missing what was a form of beauty of
appreciation of beauty and the household chores that allowed women and
men to take a moment as they polished the silver to reflect on the
craftsmanship of an item, the time is took to craft and the thought of
the design when it was created. Isn’t that what life should be looking
and appreciating beauty?

The style now commonly referred to as shabby chic
started in the United Kingdom and reflects the decorative fashions
found in the countries large country houses, at least in the popular
imagination. The fashion aims to evoke a bygone age of lords and ladies
with time on their hands, playing cricket and drinking ginger beer. It
started to become fashionable in the nineteen eighties particularly
among a certain type of young and newly wealthy middle class. They
wanted the decoration around them to reflect their carefree lifestyle,
their history and their wealth all in one which explains its inspiration
from a kind of idealised upper class drawing room. People were prepared
to spend a lot of money on the look so real antiques were often used,
but authenticity was not the main factor involved and many pieces of
original but aged furniture were made and sold. Original examples have
now become collectable themselves.

neighborhood, which have trolleys used to travel old or reproduced
signs, streets, gift and clothing and antique stores. You can also visit
the first Missouri State Capitol Historic Site at this street too. This
large street is the first place that has been registered as historic
district inMissouri. The street run parallel toMissouri River and it is
brick paved. The shops at this area are in the restored building that
has been built in 1800. The people who shop here are the people who want
to experience the sounds and the look to get the experience of early
Americans who shopped there by listening to the same sounds and by
looking at the same sights.
